Room is an intimacy app for long-distance sexual or romantic partners to enhance their intimacy and sex life by making their digital space more secured and enjoyable.
The app allows users to have end-to-end encrypted chat-rooms for their most private conversations, it also provides assistance and tips on maintaining a healthier and spicier sex life even being geographically separated.

Maintaining a spicy and healthy sex life is especially challenging for LDR partners, due to three major concerns: privacy, personal insecurities and lack of knowledge.
Firstly, maintaining privacy during any online sexual activities is an expected social norm, but there are currently no dedicated platforms for such private conversation.
Secondly, personal insecurities could hinder enjoyment of sex, for example, users’ own body insecurities that makes them uncomfortable or awkward to engage in sexual activities.
Lastly, LDR partners might feel overwhelming to adjust from physical sex to online sex, partners might find it hard to initiate or sustain sexual activities online.

Why Room Works?
There is an emerging trend that the number of people who are in a long-distance relationship is getting more common; more than 1.9-million Canadians are “living apart” according to Statistics Canada.
Also, the majority of users were video-calling and using instant messaging app to engage in sexual activities with their LDR partners, they complained that these are only visually enjoyable. They also showed some concern on privacy issues that platforms used were not safely secured and worried that content shared there might be hacked and seen by third parties without consent.
